Scientific Background
I am an Assistant Professor and an academic specialist in Geography and Urban Planning. Currently, I serve as the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs at Akre University of Applied Sciences in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.My career in higher education, scientific research, and academic administration spans over 20 years, during which I have dedicated myself to fostering academic excellence and driving institutional growth. Prior to my current role, I had the privilege of serving as the Dean of the Bardarash Technical Institute, where I gained extensive experience in supervising academic and administrative affairs, as well as faculty development.I earned my Ph.D. in Urban Planning (Geography) from the College of Education at the University of Mosul in 2011. My research interests primarily focus on spatial analysis, urban development, land-use sustainability, and transportation network efficiency. I am particularly passionate about leveraging Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in spatial planning to solve contemporary urban challenges. To date, my scientific record includes 11 research papers published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
