Overview
The Health and Safety Directorate is responsible for providing a healthy and safe environment for all students, faculty, and staff. It oversees all buildings, classrooms, scientific laboratories, and the university’s external environment, ensuring the security and safety of chemical, biological, and agricultural materials.

Mission
Commitment to implementing rigorous procedures in health monitoring, securing hazardous materials, providing first aid resources, and promoting health awareness, with the goal of creating a culture of safety within the university community and protecting lives and scientific assets from risks.
Core Responsibilities
Health & Environmental Monitoring
Continuous assessment and monitoring of health and environmental standards across all university buildings, colleges, institutes, lecture halls, laboratories, and green spaces.
Lab Safety & Hazardous Materials
Ensuring the security and safe handling of chemical, biological, and agricultural materials, while supervising scientific laboratories to prevent incidents and ensure student safety.
Emergency Preparedness & First Aid
Providing and managing first aid kits and emergency supplies across all university departments, faculties, laboratories, and student dormitories, ensuring emergency readiness.
Training & Capacity Building
Conducting professional training workshops for students and staff on first aid, laboratory safety protocols, fire safety, and chemical handling procedures.
Health Activities & Awareness
Planning and executing health awareness campaigns to promote healthy lifestyles and enhance health literacy within the entire university community.
